exif software package provides command-line utility to show EXIF information in JPEG files, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install exif
exif is installed in your system.
Make ensure the exif package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep exif *
You will get with exif package name, version, architecture and description in a table
